~The Power of a Quality Decision~

As we all know, a simple decision can CHANGE, and actually mark us, for the rest of our lives...

I am not going to camp on this aspect, however NEGATIVE~and sometimes emotionally-led~decisions can often lead to undesirable consequences later on in life...

On the other side: a RIGHT decision can lead us to a whole new place in life that we could never imagine!

Yes, there is great power in the choosing of our decisions.

As a Mom, I have opportunities each day to lead my kids, and model for them, (hopefully!) right decision making processes, and teach them to base their decisions on TRUTH.

As a homeschool family...
As a wife...
As a friend...

As a daughter...

In my health...

In my finances...

In my use of time...

On and on it goes!

I believe that making a simple, QUALITY decision can lead to a much desired result in life.

For example: deciding to no longer use your credit card, and NOT pay the full balance off every month, is a simple~though not always easy~quality decision. Yet, if you were to stick to this, you can save a LOT of unnecessary fees for borrowing money.

Another example: by deciding to exercise 3-4x's /week you will have made another quality decision that can obviously result in some personal benefits; possibly weight-loss, more energy and vitality, potentially better health.

...by deciding to make a schedule for my week (I'd recommend a flexible one if you have kids!!) I can make FAR better use of my time, and hopefully be more effective in getting necessary tasks completed.

....by deciding to make time for my friends (perhaps schedule a once per month fun night) I will feed better and healthier friendships!

...by making a decision to spend time with my family...

...by making a decision to grow in my spiritual life...

...to learn to set personal goals of all kinds...

As you can see, there are a myriad of choices.

By choosing to make a QUALITY, simple decision, we can change our behaviour...which will change our habits...and eventually our destinies!!!

What decision do you need to make today? What goal do you need to stop and set right now??

  1. Hi Rach, I love this post. its encouraging and challenges me to think my decisions through. I also believe a quality decision need not be a BIG one. Its the small but 'quality' decisions too that can in the long term help us change.
    Great post
    God bless

  2. You're so right. Each decision we face in a day has good or bad consequences and we don't often stop to think about what those implications might be. I needed this reminder, Rach. Thanks for sharing it!

  3. GREat post. Linking in from A Holy Experience. Yes choosing... that is so important. Making good decisions is very important. We can choose to believe as well. God is always there - waiting for us to choose.
    Faith is a choice.

  6. Ah yes. And sometimes NOT making the decision is our downfall! I've been in some situations where any choice would have been better than none. We show our children how to be decisive and take action - and that's also life lesson well learned.

    Great post.

    1. Yes, I agree..passivity can be a big problem, especially in our society where we are expected to be quiet on many issues. Being decisive is something I am working on as well.
      Thanks for sharing :)

  9. Thank you for the great advice.
I am visiting your blog for the first time and am very glad to meet a fellow homeschooling mom. I can't wait to read more of your posts. I am now following you via GFC and email.
I wanted to let you know that you have been randomly chosen as this week's Featured Host over at Lovin' The Weekend Blog Hops! I would love if you could send me an email to let me know you received this comment (I couldn't find another way to contact you).
I would also need you to send me a short blurb about yourself/your blog. Usually people will write about how long they have been blogging, why they blog, what they blog about (that sort of thing).
I know this is very short notice and I apologize. If you do not get this comment in time I will list you as the Featured Host for next week. Lovin' The Weekend goes live at 6pm EST, so I would need for you to send me your info and I will add it to the post and send it back to you to be posted tonight at 6pm. I will also add your button to the post. We ask that you post on time (or as close to on time as possible in this situation) and promote it a bit on your Social Media and we would love if you could share our button which you can find on Tots and Me site on the left sidebar.
I hope to hear from you soon at kewkew34@yahoo.com
    Have a great afternoon,

    1. Hi Karen,
That's so exciting! Thank you so much for letting me know :)
I did try to email you back but my server prevented me, I guess due to my configurations...anyway, this is easier then.
      Here's a lil about me:
Homeschooling Mama of four children. Also, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist that works from home. I started blogging first in 2009 to journal my thoughts, and more recently in 2012, to connect with other Mothers out there. I enjoy blogging about a myriad of topics including: my adventures in homeschooling, parenting, food/recipes, and my faith journey.
I'll be grabbing your button in a minute to post, tweet and pin!!
      Thanks again :)

  12. Such a GREAT post! Priorities is a hard one for me! The decision to make the most and best of my time just doesn't quite get made as well as it should somedays, often many times a day. I love how you broke it down. There is always a consequence for our decisions, as we teach our kids. It's a privilege and sometimes down right frightening to have that much control over the direction our lives go in. So thank you for scaring me into taking my priorities more seriously this week! ;)

And thanks for linking up with What He's Done Wednesday!
