Nutrition is my hobby. It is the subject that I easily stay up at night reading. It has become my 'side job' as a self-employed Holistic Nutritionist. It is one of my passions.
I recently started a monthly women's health support group.
It is made up of such a fun group of women, who like myself, enjoy chatting with one another in the area of health. Women, who are being real, and vulnerable, and ready to put away the excuses & move forward together as a team!
Bonus: it has become a new motivator for ME to continue to press forward in this area :)
Yet, like many others, it is still an area that I am overcoming. One small baby step at a time.
I recently gave birth to baby #5. She is a beautiful blessing... but, boy oh boy, did I gain weight during the pregnancy! I stopped counting once I gained about 50 lbs!!!
So now, it's back to square one, & I'm facing my #1 enemy in the mirror: my own self-doubt...
It seems TOO overwhelming, too big of a goal, too much to change, too hard, etc. etc.
I have to shut up all these self-doubts, DAILY, and then continue each day to make a choice for health.
Exercise. Eat Healthier. Repeat.
That is the only way to get anywhere in your health journey ...
one small step at a time. Don't quit!
one small step at a time. Don't quit!

That's so true, little steps make the big difference. Taking one step at the time brings you to a much healthier place in no time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Petro. I think it applies in so many areas, doesn't it? Thanks so much for stopping by :)
DeleteIt's already our vacation and I am planning to have some exercise routines to make my body fit and ripped. Actually eating healthy foods has a big factor in gaining healthy body for we need proper nutrition. Great post. Looks delicious too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kenneth. Have fun on your vacation! It sounds like you & your family will have a lot of fun :)
DeleteOnce I hear that we are what we take. Therefore, as you said the nutrition that we have will play great importance in our health. With some exercises, they will build great healthy body. Don't get desperate with your body. It will make change step aby step, day after day.
ReplyDeleteOh my! That chocolate avocado pudding looks amazing!! I'm finding myself more and more interested in nutrition and health since the birth of my son. I definitely see the importance of taking care of myself now more than ever!
ReplyDeleteStarting a monthly women's health support group is an amazing endeavor. Good for you for getting it going. Support groups of like-minded motivated women can really super charge the productivity and follow-through of other women in the group. Just knowing someone out there is on your side is often enough to keep going and reach your goals.
ReplyDeleteI Agree Baby Steps I Thinks It Works ut Better If You Don't Jump Into It Full Force!!

ReplyDeleteI'm SO picky ... I've never had a smoothie, just the thought of grinding up the fruit makes it unappealing. It is very hard to eat healthy when I am so picky, although I don't like a lot of things people struggle with too - so it goes both ways. I've got the fitness portion down (the quantity anyway, I could improve the quality) but the food is a constant struggle! Thanks for linking up with Motivation Monday.
ReplyDeleteIf you're breastfeeding that will help melt away the baby weight. :) Congrats on #5! I eat healthy to avoid artificial ingredients, but it has really helped clear up my skin as an added benefit!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Small Victories Sunday Linky. I agree it's all about making one healthy decision at a time, it helps from getting overwhelmed. I have been gaining weight since Easter and a medicine I take. Every extra pound hurts my joints and I've got to get it off! Pinning to our linky board.
ReplyDeleteSo true! Our biggest enemy is ourselves...but you can do it! :) Thanks for linking up with Wakeup Wednesday! Blessings!
