My Absolutely FAV Smoothie: A Meal In One!
I am always looking for easy ways to get nutrition into me, and of course my family.
And as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, my recipes can help many of my clients as well.
So what works for this busy Mama of 5?!
Smoothies have become one of my favourite go-to choices!!!
They are SUPER easy to make, and so versatile.
You're sure to love the taste of this one. Protein powder can be whichever one you prefer.
Ingredients
*2 tablespoons of peanut butter (or almond butter; if nut allergy could use sunflower seed butter)
*3/4 cup of almond milk (or other dairy alternative)
*1 large scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder of choice (I prefer one already pre-flavoured naturally; I am currently hooked on chocolate Vega)
*if protein powder not sweetened--> 5-6 drops of stevia
*if protein powder not chocolate--> then add 1 tablespoon of pure cocoa
This simple smoothie has been my morning staple as of late. And a great afternoon pick me up as well!
Add ins for extra benefits:
*hemp hearts (fibre, extra nutrients)
*Greek yogurt (extra calcium/protein)
*ground flax seeds (fibre, omega 3's)
